Some frequently asked questions:
1. What if the veteran is in a wheel chair or has difficulty walking long distances? ANSWER: Please use the circular drive that goes up to the front door of the gymnasium (see map below). Enter this driveway from Olive St. Then drive around to the back and drop off at the entrance. Then have the driver park in one of the two lots. Everything in the building is handicapped accessible.
2. Where do I park? ANSWER: St Peter Lutheran has two parking lots. The East lot is closest to the front door of the gymnasium. There is a West lot at the corner of Highland Ave and Olive Streets (a short distance away).
3. Can the veterans bring family and friends? ANSWER: Sorry, but not this time. Much as we would like to, limited space means we cannot offer spots for family and friends. If we determine there is sufficient demand, we will try to find a bigger space for next year’s Veterans Celebration.
4. Can veterans who need a caregiver bring that person? ANSWER: Most definitely YES. Please reserve a space for the caregiver at the time you reserve a space for the veteran.
5. What should the veteran wear? ANSWER: The veteran can choose his/her attire. Wearing a cap with your branch of service or conflict will add to the event.
6. Is this breakfast limited to only Arlington Hts veterans? ANSWER: No. Any veteran from anywhere can attend.
7. Does the veteran need identification? ANSWER: No. But when the veteran reserves a spot, we will ask the for the veteran’s name, address, phone, military branch, and time of service.
Please pass this invitation on to any veteran who would like to attend.
Do NOT delay! Reserve a spot beginning Sept 30, 2015. Only 200 spots are available.
