Speaker: Jeff Williams
Jeff Williams is CEO of Bizstarters.com, selected by Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine as "The Best Entrepreneurial Guide for People Over 50." Over the past twenty-six years Jeff and his team of startup experts have guided more than 4,000 people through the Virtual Incubator business start-up coaching program.
Jeff left an 18-year career as a corporate marketing executive to launch his first company, The Go Smart Business Start-Up Center, just before his fortieth birthday.
During his corporate career he worked for Corning Glass Works, Sears and Rand McNally contributing to several successful new product launches, including the CorningWare packaging system, the new generation Tough Skin Jeans and the Rand McNally map stores.
In 1990 he partnered with the Private Industry Council of Northern Cook County to debut self-employment training in Illinois for downsized corporate managers, working with clients from a diverse group of corporate employers, including Sears, Allstate, Fisher Scientific and Motorola.
Jeff created his first business start-up workbook in 1990, which today has evolved into his Start Your Business NOW! online course.
In addition to writing the companion Start NOW! Workbook, Jeff has written ten other workbooks, guides and small business books, all self-published through his Go Smart Publishing.
Jeff holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and BS in Commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia.
He hailed from Fairfax, Virginia before coming to Chicago in 1972.
