Gateway Alcohol & Drug Treatment Centers are recognized as an in-network provider for most health insurance plans and accept fees for service. We also provide treatment to individuals who may be eligible for services funded in whole, or in part, by the
Illinois Department of Human Services. We are a non-profit organization with treatment centers located throughout Illinois. We are dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of the people we treat.
About The Training
Addiction and trauma disorders often go hand in hand. Alcohol and other drugs
are commonly used to self-medicate against negative symptoms associated
with trauma exposure, such as anxiety, irritability, guilt or shame. It is important to
understand how to identify signs of trauma-infused personalities and how and
when to intervene.
Learn more about recovery from trauma and addiction through our upcoming
webinar at lunchtime on May 18 or May 24. Don’t miss this opportunity to earn
1 continuing education credit, courtesy of Gateway!
What You Will Learn
• What is a trauma-infused personality?
• Ways individuals attempt to cope with early-in-life trauma
• How trauma can lead to addiction
• The stages of dual recovery from trauma and addiction
• Appropriate interventions for each stage in the recovery process
