Description: The public sector has become a bloated and unresponsive disaster! What is the solution to this government-initiated boondoggle? Much less government bureaucracy and much more privatization!

Come to The Heartland Institute for an enlightening and entertaining discussion on this pressing topic. At this event, Austill Stuart and Len Gilroy, Reason Foundation policy analysts and contributors to The Heartland Institute’s The Patriot’s Toolbox, will discuss how privatization can be effectively used to improve public service delivery and infrastructure assets.

Stuart and Gilroy will present a twenty-first century vision to revitalize the public sector using several core private sector principles designed to ensure improved performance, transparency, and accountability. Topics will include developing a clear rationale for privatization decisions, using performance-based contracting to maximize success; creating a center of excellence to ensure smooth implementation and use of best practices; creating opportunities for direct and open community engagement; and ensuring that governments properly monitor contractor performance post-implementation.
